Tax Deductions

 The following tax deductions apply:

• Under 65 –These taxpayers may deduct  monthly contributions to medical schemes up to 7.5% of their  taxable income (a maximum of R670 for each of the first two people covered by the scheme and then R410 for each additional member.
• For those either over 65 or under 65 and physically handicapped (taxpayer or dependent), the deductions are unlimited.
